Mary’s a good character, but not a good person. I get that Mary is kawaii desu and a lot of people really like her. Kouri did a really good job with Mary’s character. BUT, it is still not okay to say what she did (or tried to do) to Garry is acceptable, just because she wanted to get out. She’s a great, sad character, but her morals and reasoning were still really fucking twisted. I really do like Mary, and I know that the only way she could get out was to kill off someone else. Even if/when she did get out, she wouldn’t be able to lead an ideally-normal life, so either way, she was screwed over from the very beginning.
But saying “Even though Mary killed Garry, she is still completely innocent because she wanted to get out!” is as bad as saying “Liking Mary is a terrible thing to do! How could you like her when she tries to kill Garry?!” Garry and Ib fought back only when fighting back was their only choice. Mary tried to murder a grown man (and on other occasions, a young girl) for her own gain. What she did is still wrong, and she is anything but innocent. But I’ve never seen an antagonist like her in any other media, and that’s why I like her so much, even if her reasons and actions were waaay off-course.

i will forever detest EA for rushing the game out. the game could have been so much better if they had been able to keep some of the stuff from the beta. a bigger story line in london, each level would have been the same length as level 1, no blatant glitches, etc

I don’t think of myself having a life as terrible as Alice’s, but I really can connect with her. I might not have had it near as bad as her but playing Madness Returns reminded me of what I have been through and how strong I am to come this far in my life when I could’ve ended it at any time.

This game changed my life. I think we all have our own separate Wonderland, each of them filled with different creatures, and terrain, depending on the inner workings of our minds. We just need to connect with it, we can all go there whenever, and it can help solve our problems.

It sounds sick but I’m obsessed with Alice’s time in Rutledge. I wish we knew more about it.

I don’t like how the majority of the fandom portrays Alice as some sort of mindless killing machine who isn’t afraid of anything. She’s pretty much the complete opposite. She paranoid, and actually afraid of a lot of things.
